Trial of longtime Cuomo aide, others begins today

The corruption trial of Joseph Percoco, a longtime aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and three others begins Monday in Manhattan. Percoco is charged with taking at least $315,000 in bribes in return for official actions to benefit an energy company and a developer, according to The New York Times. He has pleaded not guilty. Downtown Schenectady building will be renovated and return to tax rolls

A 40,000-square-foot office building in downtown Schenectady, New York, will be purchased by a private developer and renovated to keep its sole tenant and to lease the remaining space. Chris Spraragen will buy the building at 530 Franklin St. from Northern Rivers Family of Services, a nonprofit agency that employs 70 people. The purchase price wasn't disclosed.
